General Information
The Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park officially opened to the public on Saturday, October 3, 2009. This park will be managed and mantained by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. For specific questions about park regulations, vending permits and special requests, please contact New York State Parks Walkway Over the Hudson phone line at 845-834-2867 (office hours 8am - 4:30pm).
Hours of Operation
7:00 a.m. - sunset (see newspaper for exact time).
Parking Locations
On the west side of the river: 87 Haviland Road, Highland, NY 12528. Parking is along the road-side, except for handicapped parking which is at the entrance to the bridge.
On the east side of the river: 61 Parker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. There is an 80 car parking lot, with handicapped parking available.
Handicapped Access
There is handicapped parking and a level, handicapped access on both ends of the bridge. The Walkway is wheelchair accessible and motorized scooters are allowed (for the handicapped only). There are no equipment rentals on site.

No skateboards or motorized vehicles are allowed
There are currently no benches or seating areas on the bridge, although we anticipate adding this iand other amenities as funding allows.
Pets are allowed but must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet. Waste bags are not currently available so owners should plan to bring their own and clean up after their dogs.
This is a carry-in-carry-out park. There are no waste receptacles on the bridge.
This is an smoke and alcohol free park.
Rest rooms are available at either end of the bridge.
