I Love My Park Day

Join Walkway Ambassadors and volunteers for New York State’s “I Love My Park Day” on Saturday, May 5, 2018, and help us clean up and beautify the east and west approaches to the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park.
“I Love My Park” Day is an This exciting statewide event to celebrate and enhance New York’s state parks and historic sites and bring visibility to the entire New York State Parks system. Volunteers from across the state participate in cleanup, improvement, and beautification events at New York State parks and historic sites. Volunteers celebrate New York’s state park system by cleaning up park lands and beaches, planting trees and gardens, restoring trails and wildlife habitat, removing invasive species, and working on various site-improvement projects.
East (Poughkeepsie) Entrance:
Clean up/ planting of flowerbeds in and around the Washington Street entrance. Appropriate for ages 13 and up. Meet at Washington Street plaza entrance to the Washington street stairs. Please bring garden gloves, snack, water, garden tools for clean up and planting
Clean up and planting of flower beds around the Ulster pavilion. Meet at Walkway Ulster approach gate. Appropriate for ages 13 and up. Please bring garden gloves, snack, water, garden tools for clean up and planting
Upper Landing Park (83 North Water St, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601):
This event is more for the younger patrons to show their love for the Walkway. Activities will include coloring and painting pictures of the Walkway and a planting project for participants to take home. Meet at Upper Landing park. Appropriate for children 12 and under. Please bring water and snack.
