3rd Annual Walkway Marathon Finishes Strong Nearly 2,200 Runners Compete in Three Races

Nearly 2,200 athletes were joined by thousands of spectators, supporters, and volunteers along the Poughkeepsie waterfront on Sunday for the third annual Walkway Marathon Race Series, bringing an event full of fun and competition to the Hudson Valley on a clear sunny morning.

  • Full Marathon: The best overall time in the full marathon was posted by Spencer Johnson, age 22 of Bristol, CT, with a time of 2:39:32. The top female athlete in the full marathon was Rachel Darling, age 24, of Highland, NY, with a time of 3:08:51.
  • Wheelchair Marathon: The best overall time in the wheelchair marathon was won by Peter Gagliardo, age 32, of Poughquag, NY, with a time of 2:17:25. The top female athlete in the wheelchair marathon was Maria Bournias, age 40, of Tenafly, NJ, with a time of 3:24:47.
  • Half Marathon: The best overall time in the half marathon was Ruslan Kramariuk, age 25, of Kitsman, Ukraine with a time of 1:15:39. The top female athlete in the half marathon was Kristen Gregory, age 36 of New York, NY, with a time of 1:31:28.
  • College-to-College 5K: The best overall time in the 5K was Stefan Morton, age 21, of Emerson, NJ, with a time of 15:00. The top female athlete in the 5K was Nicki Nesi, age 23, of Pelham, NY, with a time of 18:05.
