Walkway Tickets are Sold Out Online: Limited Number of Tickets Available at Gates
The Walkway will be open to ticket holders to watch the City of Poughkeepsie's 4th of July fireworks display on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. Walkway Over the Hudson, a nonprofit organization, is a proud lead sponsor of the City of Poughkeepsie's fireworks display, along with other local businesses. Ticket sales fund fireworks, emergency services, and Walkway programs.
The Walkway will close at 5:30 pm to the general public and reopen for the 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular at 7:00p.m. Fireworks are scheduled to begin between 9/9:30 pm.
The Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park will close immediately after the fireworks show is completed.
No refunds for this event will be issued. Rain date is scheduled for Friday, July 7, 2017.
DIRECTIONS AND PARKING:
The Walkway will be open from both the East and West entrances starting at 7:00pm, but access will only be given to those with paid reservations or tickets.
Those with valid tickets are encouraged to car pool and to park at various City of Poughkeepsie locations, or approved on-street parking spaces, and allow ample time to get to the Walkway in time for the fireworks.
WEST SIDE (Ulster County): Due to construction on the west side, we recommend you arrive early. Parking will be available at the Hudson Valley Rail Trail parking lot located on Haviland Road, Highland, NY and along the south side of Haviland Road. Town of Lloyd Police Department will close Haviland Road when full.
EAST SIDE (Dutchess County): There is a New York State paid parking lot ($5) at 61 Parker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY (with limited handicapped parking). Additional parking may be found at Pulaski Park on Washington Street, the Star Diner Parking Area on Parker Avenue, or along Garden, Brookside and Marshall Streets.
We ask for your cooperation when leaving the event. There will be many congested areas due to the high volume of cars.
Bathrooms and vendors are located on the approaches to the Walkway on both sides of the Park. Bathrooms will also be available inside the gates.
Inclement weather postponement will be announced on local radio stations, on Walkway.org and on the Walkway Over the Hudson Facebook page. No refunds will be issued due to inclement weather.
