Fireworks Over the Hudson River

July 4, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Don’t miss your chance to see fireworks from eye level with an unobstructed view 212 feet above the Hudson River on the World’s Longest Elevated Pedestrian Bridge.

On Monday, July 4, Walkway Over the Hudson will be open to ticket holders only to view the City of Poughkeepsie fireworks display. Space is limited at this event and registration is required for all attendees. Children age 10 and under are free but require a ticket to be purchased in advance.

Timeline of event:

4:30pm – Walkway closes to the public for event setup and safety preparations

6:30pm – Walkway re-opens to ticketholders

9:00pm-9:15pm – Estimated start time of fireworks show

9:30pm – Walkway closes to the public

Don’t delay purchasing your tickets! Attendance is strictly limited and tickets have sold out in the past.

The Friends of the Walkway nonprofit organization is a proud lead sponsor of the City of Poughkeepsie’s annual fireworks. Proceeds from ticket sales support the Walkway and help us fund community events like the annual fireworks display, improve the park with new amenities and construction, support our volunteer Ambassadors, tell the historical story of the bridge, and more!

TICKETING INFORMATION

Tickets are valid for access at either entrance to the bridge. Attendees can choose to park at the East (Poughkeepsie) OR West (Highland) entrances.

General Admission: $20

Seniors 65+ or Veterans: $15

Walkway Members*: $15

Children 10 and Under: FREE when accompanied by a paid adult (ALL children must be registered and have a ticket to enter).

WHAT TO KNOW IF YOU’RE ATTENDING

Both sides of the Walkway will serve as entrances and ticket holders can arrive at either location.

Children under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Wristbands will be given to all ticketholders upon check-in.

Food and beverage concessions will be available. Guests may bring small personal coolers.

Seating may be set up on the south side of the Walkway in designated viewing sections only. Seating is not provided on the Walkway.

Please set up any photographic tripods away from congested areas.

Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park is smoke and alcohol-free NYS Park.

There will be NO ELEVATOR ACCESS during this event.

Indoor restrooms are located at the Welcome Centers on both sides of the bridge. Portable facilities will be available as well at both sides.

Accessibility – This is a wheelchair-accessible event. The Walkway is mostly flat, paved, and among the most accessible parks in New York State. Please note there will be no elevator access during this particular event.

The Walkway will close 60 minutes after the fireworks end.

Please bring a flashlight to assist with exiting the event.

EVENT REGULATIONS
Guests must present proof of ticket purchase (printed or digital on smartphone) to enter the Walkway after 6:30 p.m.

All visitors must comply with current New York State health guidelines for attending outdoor events.

NO PETS. This event is not pet-friendly as fireworks may frighten the animals.

NO BIKES, SKATES, SKATEBOARDS, SCOOTERS, DRONES, HOVERBOARDS, OR SIMILAR PRODUCTS.

Drones are PROHIBITED to be flown at or over this event unless permitted in advance

NO FIREWORKS OR FIREARMS

NO GLASS CONTAINERS

Bags and coolers may be subject to inspection. Prohibited items must be removed by owner prior to entry.

The Walkway is a carry-in, carry-out park. Please deposit all waste in an appropriate container or bring it with you.
