Every Wednesday from May 28 through August 27, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation welcome an eclectic mix of talented local musicians into the park to bring Walkway Over the Hudson’s Ulster Welcome Center Plaza to life with free live music from 6-7 p.m.

These concerts are open to everyone and suitable for all ages. Bring chairs and blankets!

In the event of inclement weather, cancellation information will be posted atop walkway.org and on Facebook.

May 28: Callie Mackenzie (she/they) is a Kingston, NY based social change worker, musician and multidisciplinary artist. Living at the intersections of art & social justice, she uses the practice of creating art as medicine and works to create liberatory and joyful spaces for growth and healing rooted in love. Armed with a guitar, she brings the audience on a smooth, soulful and sometimes funky journey of deep feelings about oppression, freedom, love, heartbreak, and mental health.

June 4 – Tony DePaolo is a Beacon, NY based jazz guitarist specializing in American popular songs, jazz standards and today’s Top 40.

June 11 – Bianca and Jeff Carano are a Father Daughter Acoustic Duo that have been playing around the Hudson Valley for many years. With Bianca on guitar and vocals, and Jeff on the bass, you will hear anything from Frank Sinatra to Fleetwood Mac. They create their own arrangements to songs you’ll surely want to sing along to. One things for sure, lots of notes and lots of laughs!

June 18 – Dorraine Scofield has lived and played music in the Catskill Mountains for her entire life. She sings, plays violin, viola, mandolin and guitar. She manages and performs in the country/rock band Thunder Ridge as well as performing her original songs in duos or trios. Dorraine has taken the stage with many national made many radio appearances as well as appearing numerous times on The Food Network and other channels. She performs a wide variety of songs including her originals, and covers including country, soft rock, folk, and just a touch of jazz.

June 25 – O’Sullivan’s March, At the heart of the band O’Sullivans March,is band leader Sean Gallagher’s and Uilleann piper Stephen Gara’s appreciation and respect for Irish, Scottish, and early American music.  Sean formed this outstanding traditional ensemble to evoke the warmth and beauty of Irish culture through its instrumental and sung songs.  Our instrumentation includes accordion, flutes, banjo, fiddle, bouzouki, guitar, Uilleann pipes, bodhran and singing.  By performing beautiful, emotionally charged pieces of this song art we enjoy a connection with our audiences.  

 July 2, Bob Stump – a hybrid of Americana sounds. Bluegrass, blues, country, rock and jazz are blended throughout the songs.

 July 9 – The Youngblood Trio blends Jazz, Funk, Latin, and Blues together to serve up their own flavor of Fusion. The trio features guitarist John Youngblood, bassist Vince Leggiere, and percussionist Paul Rossman.

July 16 – Juice Box is an acoustic duo made up of Brian Ross and Joslyn Shepard, a couple whose story has a lot to do with music. From rock to pop, from 60s to current hits, Juice Box Acoustic loves to bring their sound into tunes that everyone loves.

July 23 – Tara O’Grady is a singer-songwriter, author, and effervescent band leader raised between Ireland and NYC. This Hudson Valley resident has produced and recorded five albums of original jazz, blues, and folk music. Nashville called her a “Celt in the Cotton Club.” Irish radio called her “Billie Holiday reincarnated as the Rose of Tralee.”

July 30 – Indigo Trio brings together the unique combo of violin, guitar, and upright bass, playing original arrangements of jazz standards, bossa novas, gypsy jazz, tunes from the Great American Songbook, and blues. Claudia Forest, violin, and Dan Silversmith, guitar, have been working together since 2023, playing throughout the Hudson Valley and Capital region. Bassist Harry D’Agostino performs with them as often as possible.

August 6 – Karl Allweier is a Hudson Valley, NY based guitarist/ bassist who has been performing and recording in the area for the past 35 years. He has composed music that has appeared on many popular television shows and commercials, and he performs with many bands in the Hudson Valley and beyond. His solo acoustic guitar work is unique and all his own, singing and performing with an energetic style that always engages and captivates the listener.

August 13 – Raquel & The Wildflowers National touring country artist Raquel & The Wildflowers will be performing an acoustic duo country set. Upcoming notable performances include Hoof Beat with headliner Lainey Wilson, Brooks and Dun and Riley Green. August 20 – Straight -Ahead Jazz Trio The Straight-Ahead Jazz Trio plays classic jazz standards from the 50s and 60s that inspire audiences with uplifting rhythms from jazz, soul, blues, and bossa nova. A typical performance features selections from Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, Sonny Rollins, and Wayne Shorter. The Trio features guitarist Luke Johnson, bassist Eric Marshall, and drummer Glenn Hoagland.

August 27 – Dylan Doyle
Southern born, Northern raised; from a young age, Dylan Doyle has been turning heads with his unique musical interpretations that lie somewhere between R&B, Americana, and funk. Steeped in everyone from Jimi Hendrix to Wes Montgomery; John Mayer to D’Angelo; Bob Dylan to John Prine; The Band to Chris Stapleton; Bill Withers, and Roberta Flack, he has created a uniquely American sound.
