Walkway Connections (For Kids!): Native Plants and Pollinators

May 10 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED FROM FRIDAY, MAY 9 TO SATURDAY, MAY 10 AT 6:30 P.M.

Come roll up your sleeves and get grounded with the Vassar College Environmental Cooperative on Saturday, May 10 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Ulster Welcome Center (87 Haviland Road, Highland). Learn how you can take action to support pollinators like butterflies and bees, right in your own backyard. Participants will learn all about native plants, decorate their own pot, and receive a seedling to take home (while supplies last). Walkway Connections events are free to attend.  No RSVP required.

The Environmental Cooperative at the Vassar Barns works to strengthen place-based awareness of nature in Hudson Valley. We work with the College, the Preserve, the City of Poughkeepsie, and local community-based organizations to connect people with the outdoors. By supporting conservation efforts and facilitating youth programs, we strive to inspire deeper engagement in the natural world while fostering a mindset of environmental stewardship.
