He has composed music that has appeared on many popular television shows and commercials\, and he performs with many bands in the Hudson Valley and beyond. His solo acoustic guitar work is unique and all his own\, singing and performing with an energetic style that always engages and captivates the listener. \nJune 10 – Carrie Zazz Duo \nJune 17 –  Tony DePaolo is a Beacon\, NY based jazz guitarist specializing in American popular songs\, jazz standards and today’s Top 40. \nJune 24 – Jim Popsipil \nJuly 1 – Erin Hobson \nJuly 8 – Elly Wininger \nJuly 15 – Storm King Band \nJuly 22 – O’Sullivan’s March\, At the heart of the band O’Sullivans March\,is band leader Sean Gallagher’s and Uilleann piper Stephen Gara’s appreciation and respect for Irish\, Scottish\, and early American music.  Sean formed this outstanding traditional ensemble to evoke the warmth and beauty of Irish culture through its instrumental and sung songs.  Our instrumentation includes accordion\, flutes\, banjo\, fiddle\, bouzouki\, guitar\, Uilleann pipes\, bodhran and singing.  By performing beautiful\, emotionally charged pieces of this song art we enjoy a connection with our audiences.   \nJuly 29 – Straight -Ahead Jazz Trio The Straight-Ahead Jazz Trio plays classic jazz standards from the 50s and 60s that inspire audiences with uplifting rhythms from jazz\, soul\, blues\, and bossa nova. A typical performance features selections from Miles Davis\, John Coltrane\, Thelonious Monk\, Sonny Rollins\, and Wayne Shorter. The Trio features guitarist Luke Johnson\, bassist Eric Marshall\, and drummer Glenn Hoagland. \nAugust 5 – Betty & The Baby Boomers \nAugust 12 – Dylan Doyle\nSouthern born\, Northern raised; from a young age\, Dylan Doyle has been turning heads with his unique musical interpretations that lie somewhere between R&B\, Americana\, and funk. Steeped in everyone from Jimi Hendrix to Wes Montgomery; John Mayer to D’Angelo; Bob Dylan to John Prine; The Band to Chris Stapleton; Bill Withers\, and Roberta Flack\, he has created a uniquely American sound. \nAugust 19 – The Crew Duo \nAugust 26 – Dorraine Scofield has lived and played music in the Catskill Mountains for her entire life. She sings\, plays violin\, viola\, mandolin and guitar. She manages and performs in the country/rock band Thunder Ridge as well as performing her original songs in duos or trios. Dorraine has taken the stage with many national made many radio appearances as well as appearing numerous times on The Food Network and other channels. She performs a wide variety of songs including her originals\, and covers including country\, soft rock\, folk\, and just a touch of jazz.

SUMMARY:Walkway Connections: FDR and the Presidential Train from Washington to Hyde Park
DESCRIPTION:President Franklin D. Roosevelt frequently traveled by rail between Washington\, D.C.\, and his beloved home in Hyde Park\, making the Hudson Valley an important part of his personal and political journey. Join us on Sunday\, July 19\, from 2–3 p.m. at East Gate Plaza in Poughkeepsie as historian William Harris explores the trains FDR traveled aboard\, the routes he took\, and his connections to communities throughout the region. \nWilliam Harris serves as Director of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum\, where he has prioritized building strong collaborative partnerships with the National Park Service and the Roosevelt Institute. Harris earned a Master of Arts in History and a Bachelor of Arts in English and History from Auburn University. He began his career with the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) in 1996 as an archivist at the George H. W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum. He later held a senior leadership role within the Office of Presidential Libraries\, where he played a key role in the development of the William J. Clinton and George W. Bush Presidential Libraries and Museums. \nAll Walkway Connections events are free to attend and appropriate for all ages.

The Jazz Pioneers plays traditional sounds from the big band era like Tommy Dorsey\, Glenn Miller and Count Basie as well as the driving big band sounds of Buddy Rich\, Maynard Ferguson and Gordon Goodwin. The Jazz Pioneers feature top musicians from throughout the Mid-Hudson Valley.                  \nThe concert is scheduled from 6-8 p.m.\, weather permitting.

SUMMARY:Walkway Connections (For Kids!): River Clay Pottery
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, July 25 from 7-8 p.m. at the Ulster Welcome Center in Highland\, kids will have a hands-on opportunity to craft with real Hudson River clay while learning all about the history of clay in the river and how people’s relationship with it have changed over the years. Be ready to get dirty and hands on in this all-ages crafting class led by educators from The Rewilding School. \nThe Rewilding School has spent the last 10 years connecting Hudson Valley residents to the land through the blending of nature-based skills\, imaginative play\, and natural exploration. Through seasonal camps\, preschool programs\, and adult workshops\, naturalists build a greater relationship between people and their own back yards\, no matter the age. \nAll Walkway Connections events are free to attend and appropriate for all ages.  Walkway Connections is supported in part by the Maurice D. Hinchey Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area and The M&T Charitable Foundation.

There’s truly nothing like a twilight stroll across the World’s Longest Elevated Pedestrian Bridge. \nWeather permitting\, our friends from the Mid-Hudson Astronomical Association will join us on the bridge with telescopes\, offering a closer look at the night sky and the celestial wonders above. \nWalkway members attend free. Non-members may purchase tickets for $5 in advance or at the gate. Children 12 and under are free. He has composed music that has appeared on many popular television shows and commercials\, and he performs with many bands in the Hudson Valley and beyond. His solo acoustic guitar work is unique and all his own\, singing and performing with an energetic style that always engages and captivates the listener. \nJune 10 – Carrie Zazz Duo \nJune 17 –  Tony DePaolo is a Beacon\, NY based jazz guitarist specializing in American popular songs\, jazz standards and today’s Top 40. \nJune 24 – Jim Popsipil \nJuly 1 – Erin Hobson \nJuly 8 – Elly Wininger \nJuly 15 – Storm King Band \nJuly 22 – O’Sullivan’s March\, At the heart of the band O’Sullivans March\,is band leader Sean Gallagher’s and Uilleann piper Stephen Gara’s appreciation and respect for Irish\, Scottish\, and early American music.  Sean formed this outstanding traditional ensemble to evoke the warmth and beauty of Irish culture through its instrumental and sung songs.  Our instrumentation includes accordion\, flutes\, banjo\, fiddle\, bouzouki\, guitar\, Uilleann pipes\, bodhran and singing.  By performing beautiful\, emotionally charged pieces of this song art we enjoy a connection with our audiences.   \nJuly 29 – Straight -Ahead Jazz Trio The Straight-Ahead Jazz Trio plays classic jazz standards from the 50s and 60s that inspire audiences with uplifting rhythms from jazz\, soul\, blues\, and bossa nova. A typical performance features selections from Miles Davis\, John Coltrane\, Thelonious Monk\, Sonny Rollins\, and Wayne Shorter. The Trio features guitarist Luke Johnson\, bassist Eric Marshall\, and drummer Glenn Hoagland. \nAugust 5 – Betty & The Baby Boomers \nAugust 12 – Dylan Doyle\nSouthern born\, Northern raised; from a young age\, Dylan Doyle has been turning heads with his unique musical interpretations that lie somewhere between R&B\, Americana\, and funk. Steeped in everyone from Jimi Hendrix to Wes Montgomery; John Mayer to D’Angelo; Bob Dylan to John Prine; The Band to Chris Stapleton; Bill Withers\, and Roberta Flack\, he has created a uniquely American sound. \nAugust 19 – The Crew Duo \nAugust 26 – Dorraine Scofield has lived and played music in the Catskill Mountains for her entire life. She sings\, plays violin\, viola\, mandolin and guitar. She manages and performs in the country/rock band Thunder Ridge as well as performing her original songs in duos or trios. Dorraine has taken the stage with many national made many radio appearances as well as appearing numerous times on The Food Network and other channels. She performs a wide variety of songs including her originals\, and covers including country\, soft rock\, folk\, and just a touch of jazz.
