Job Opportunity: Parks & Recreation Aide 3

The following seasonal vacancy is announced at Walkway Over the Hudson State Park, Highland, NY 12528 or 5 Parker Avenue, Poughkeepsie NY 12601 in the Taconic Region of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.

TITLE: Park & Recreation Aide 3 (Maintenance)

SALARY: $12.50/hr., (includes weekends & holidays)

WORK SCHEDULE: Up to 32 hrs. /week

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Seasonal.  Eligible for health insurance benefits and to join NYS Retirement System

DUTIES:

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Establish strong working relationship with WOTH supervision, other staff and patrons
  • Be able to multitask, take initiative and be a motivated self-starter  
  • Be able to work independently and in a group setting
  • Be able to remain calm under pressure, adapt to unique situations and apply critical thinking
  • Be able to take direction but also be willing to ask for clarification on tasks assigned
  • Additional duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to work weekends and evenings and holidays.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
