Learn about the amazing life of Walkway Over the Hudson

From its historic construction and opening as the longest bridge in the world in 1889, through its long life as a key railroad span during America's industrial revolution, great fire that ended its operation in 1974, and grassroots rebirth as Walkway Over the Hudson in 2009, a guided group tour is the perfect way to learn all about the Walkway!

  • Duration: Approximately 60 minutes
  • Cost For Adult Tours: $10 per person ($8 per person for groups of 30 or more)

  • Accessibility: ADA handicapped accessible, no stairs required. Ask us about renting our wheelchair-accessible electric tram.
  • Access: Due to construction, all tours will begin on the west (Highland) side of the Walkway in 2024. Bus parking is available.

After your tour is confirmed, pay online via PayPal here.  Do not submit payment until your tour has been confirmed by a representative of Walkway Over the Hudson.


Your escorted group tour will last approximately one hour and can be customized for your group’s preferred length and areas of interest. Tours are led by trained Walkway Ambassadors who are knowledgeable about the Walkway’s construction, history and reconstruction, as well as the Hudson River and surrounding areas.

  • Two trained guides assigned to each tour bus for ease of listening.
  • Breathtaking, unobstructed 360 degree views of the Hudson River and surrounding scenic valley from 212 feet above the Hudson River.
  • Substantial chest-height safety railing on both sides of this wide, flat and smooth concrete walking surface.
  • ADA handicapped accessible; no stairs required.
  • Mobile web tour, signage and historic photos in English, Spanish, Italian and Mandarin Chinese.
  • Designated bus parking.
