Presented by Alpha Win, the second annual Hudson Valley Marathon returns to Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park on Sunday, May 5, 2024.  The race will follow the iconic, fast course featuring the historic Walkway Over the Hudson, William R. Steinhaus Dutchess Rail Trail, and Hudson Valley Rail Trail.  Alpha Win’s motto, “A Distance for Everyone” is reflected in the offering of five distances – Mile, 5K, 10K, Half Marathon and Marathon.  Half Marathon and Marathon participants will race on USATF certified courses, making the race the Boston and New York City Marathon qualifier.

Festivities begin on Saturday, May 4th from 3-8 p.m. at the Mid-Hudson Discovery Museum in Poughkeepsie where Alpha Win will be hosting athlete check-in and a pre-race party.

Highlighting the night will be a pre-race speech from Hilary Topper, industry renowned author and founder of WeREndurance. Participants will have a chance to win her book, “From Couch Potato to Endurance Athlete.” BLACKBARN Hudson Valley will cater a pasta dinner, and Nancy Donnelly Vocals will complete the evening with live music.

Following a successful first year in 2023, other new features have been added to the Hudson Valley Marathon to enhance athlete experience.  Participants have the option to compete for awards in the 5K Team Race, or organize a team to compete in the Aid Station Competition.  The aid station with the best decorations, music and energy will receive an award. 

Alpha Win’s lodging partner, Diamond Mills Hotel, is offering two packages customized for the Hudson Valley Marathon athlete who is traveling to the race.  Athletes can choose from the Pre-Race Relax or Post-Race Recovery Package.  Each boasts luxurious lodging accommodations at Diamond Mills properties, exquisite dining at BLACKBARN Hudson Valley, and rejuvenating treatments at the brand new Waterside Spa, Cafe and Fitness Center.  Additionally, athletes will have race materials delivered to their room, and will receive 20% off registration for the Hudson Valley Marathon 2025.  Athletes can select these packages as an add-on when they register for the race.
