A membership to Walkway Over the Hudson is the best way to maximize “The Walkway Experience” while making a transformative impact on the future of the park. To grow our membership base and provide more value to our members than ever before, the Friends of the Walkway has simplified its membership options and expanded benefits for all new and renewing members. Members ensure we fulfill the promise of the Walkway for decades to come.  Their support is essential in bringing family-friendly programming into the park, adding new amenities that enhance the visitor experience, and preserving our treasured history for generations to enjoy. When you become a Walkway Member, you receive exclusive annual benefits not available to anyone else and join a community of tight-knit supporters that believe in our mission to contribute to the vitality of the Hudson Valley.

Walkway membership starts at $50 per year for an individual ($100 value), or $100 per year for a household ($430 value with membership benefits for up to four at one address) and includes:

• Free admission to Mayfest, Walktoberfest, Walkway Talks Lecture Series, and our entire calendar of Walkway at Night events (see below).
• Advance purchase opportunities and discounted admission for special events including the sell-out July 4th Fireworks Spectacular.
• Invitation to attend special VIP events like our Annual Meeting and Dinner.
• A 10% discount on Walkway merchandise purchased at our pavilions and online at shop.walkway.org.
• Subscription to the bi-annual Great Connector print newsletter and Walkway e-news.
• Official Walkway membership card and sticker.

Members wishing to maximize their annual impact are invited to explore our new, enhanced membership options.  Each includes benefits for up to four unique Walkway gifts.

Anchor Member – $150 per year.  Anchors ensure we can continue to deliver an impactful on-bridge experience for each of our guests and fulfill the promise of the Walkway for decades to come. Anchors receive all benefits of a Household membership, plus a limited edition pen and notebook set.

Conductor Member – Conductors serve as a guiding light for new memories to be made on Walkway Over the Hudson. Conductors receive all benefits of an Anchor membership, plus a packable, reusable Walkway tote bag.

Connector Member – $500 per year. Our Connector members are the driving force behind the hundreds of thousands of new connections made on the Walkway every year. Connectors receive all benefits of the Conductor membership, plus a limited edition print created by a local artist and private, Ambassador-led Walkway tour aboard our electric tram.

Members directly support our corps of 150+ volunteer Ambassadors that bring the Walkway to life for more than 600,000 guests each year, access to our electric tram for seniors and visitors with mobility challenges, a robust and diverse annual calendar of family-friendly community events, summer employment opportunities for local high school students from the cities of Poughkeepsie and Kingston, our Walkway Explorers and Junior Explorers program connecting children ages 5-9 to Walkway’s mission, and more.

Member Benefits at Walkway Events

Members receive free admission to all seven Walkway At Night events scheduled for May 5, June 2, July 21, August 4, August 18, September 29, and October 27. Non-member admission is $5 per event. During Walkway At Night, the bridge is open two hours past closing time for guests to enjoy amazing twilight views from The World’s Longest Elevated Pedestrian Bridge.

In 2023, general admission to our popular Mayfest and Walktoberfest Farmers and Makers Markets on the Hudson Valley Rail Trail and west approach to Walkway Over the Hudson (scheduled for May 20-21 and October 21-22) will be $5 per day.  Members receive complimentary admission all four days.

Members will have the opportunity to secure advance tickets for our sell-out July 4^th Fireworks Spectacular (exact date TBD) and receive a discount on each ticket purchased.

Members are also invited to attend our exclusive, catered end-of-year Annual Meeting and Dinner in December that is not open to the public.
