HIGHLAND, N.Y. >> The Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park has set up a detour from the Ulster approach to the walkway during construction of a new visitor center.
The detour is necessary for the installation of underground utilities to the new center. Patrons will be redirected by posted signs to the detour, starting from the rail trail parking lot out onto the shoulder of Haviland Road, and reentering the walkway through the old walkway parking lot. The detour will allow for the continuation of construction work, conditions permitting. The walkway is open daily from 7 a.m. to sunset.
