THE EVENT NOW TAKES PLACE FROM 3-9 P.M.
Kick off Pride season by lighting the World’s Longest Elevated Pedestrian Bridge in rainbow. Big Gay Hudson Valley, in partnership with Friends of the Walkway, host the second annual Pride In The Sky in Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park on Sunday, May 18 from 3-9 p.m.
The event begins with community festivals adjacent to the bridge gates in both Highland Poughkeepsie featuring LGBTQ+ community organizations, food, drinks, entertainment, and more. At 4:30 p.m., get your four-legged family in on the Pride celebration with a Pet Pawrade stepping onto the Walkway from the Highland side (prizes for best looks)! At 6 p.m., two epic pride flags – one Rainbow and one Trans – will parade from each side of the Walkway and meet in the middle. After the sun goes down, there will be dancing, drag and live entertainment continuing across the Walkway and under the stars.
