Walkway Talks: Sojourner – A Bridge to Truth and Justice

Join history-maker Sojourner Truth and Dutchess County Historical Society Executive Director Bill Jeffway in a conversation about using law, intellect, and moral character to uplift people from all walks of life.  This event takes places at the Walkway’s Ulster Welcome Center (87 Haviland Road, Highland, NY 12528), is free to attend, and suitable for all ages.

Grace Angela Henry, known as Angela, has performed on stage with the CENTER for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck, Half Moon Theatre, and The HOWL as well as other regional venues in the Hudson Valley. Her voice can be heard on audio tours for Berkshire Botanical Garden, Historic Huguenot Street, and Dutch Heritage World Tours along the Hudson and in Schenectady, Paris, and Aruba. She is especially known for her portrayals of Sojourner Truth and audio book narrations for Condoleezza Rice, among others. She as the inaugural producer, director, and writer of the Historic Graveyard Tours at St. James’ Episcopal Church in Hyde Park. Angela is a popular emcee for nonprofit galas throughout the Hudson Valley and is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA.

Bill Jeffway is the Executive Director of the Dutchess County Historical Society (DCHS). He serves on the research committee of the Poughkeepsie-based Celebrating in the African Spirit and serves on the External Advisory Committee of the Vassar College President’s Inclusive History Initiative. He publishes through DCHS, through a regular newspaper column, and through the independent group he founded, HistorySpeaks. Jeffway has a degree in American Studies and English from Wesleyan University.
