Upon its opening in 1889, the Poughkeepsie-Highland Railroad Bridge was the longest in the world and a marvel of engineering. This shot, captured by Kathleen Monahan, showcases the iconic structure of what is today Walkway Over the Hudson – the world’s longest elevated pedestrian bridge – illuminated by a magnificent Hudson Valley sunrise glistening off the river below. This 8×10 photo print is presented on a medium-gloss paper and is ready for framing.
Walkway's elevator, merchandise and information pavilions, and electric tram have ended operation for the season. Indoor restrooms remain open near each gate throughout the year.
