This event could not happen without the dedicated support of our volunteers. We need you! It is fun, you can spend as much time as you want, and you meet great people when you volunteer. Many thanks to all of our volunteers who give so generously of their time.
Our volunteer coordinator will reach out to you directly prior to event to determine your volunteer role. All of our volunteer opportunities require you to work on your feet. A standard volunteer shift will be between four to six hours. However, the length of each shift will vary, depending on task required during SkyRide. Though we will try our best to assign you to a specific job, please be advised that you may be reassigned to multiple positions as needed. Certain volunteers may be asked to report earlier than others based on their jobs. Most volunteers will arrive about 60 minutes before the start of registration for the motorcycles and remain until all responsibilities are completed. Volunteer assignments may be check in, traffic control, meet and greet, safety, spectator check in and lane control. The three main locations where volunteer support is necessary will be the Hudson Valley Rail Trail, Walkway Over the Hudson, and Motorcycleopedia.
There are two parts to SkyRide - the first part of the ride is from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Highland area. Volunteers signing up for this part of the ride will be assigned to check in and troubleshooting. At this part of the ride we have a need for 60 to 70 volunteers should be finished by 1:00 p.m. The post-ride party is at Motorcyclepedia Museum and we are looking for 10 to 12 volunteers.
