On behalf of our board members, staff, New York State Parks team, and the more than 615,000 people that visited Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park in 2019, thank you for making the Walkway a special place.
Over the past ten years, we’ve built a lot of physical things – pavilions, welcome centers, bathrooms, benches, an elevator, staircases, landscape installations, picnic areas, you name it – but most importantly, we’ve built a community.
Whether you’re one of our 180 red-vested volunteer ambassadors, a Hudson Valley resident who exercises on the span each day, a tourist from near or far, a rail-trail user, someone who celebrated an engagement or anniversary on the bridge, a history buff, a lover of the outdoors, or any and everything in between, you are what makes the Walkway special.
Thank you for being part of our community. Here’s to a safe, happy, and healthy new year.
See you on the Walkway!
Sincerely,
Executive Director, Walkway Over the Hudson
Walkway's elevator, merchandise and information pavilions, and electric tram have ended operation for the season. Indoor restrooms remain open near each gate throughout the year.
