Tony Marano remembers when Maybrook was the gateway to New England.
“The Maybrook switching terminal had five separate railroads bringing cars into it,” says Marano, now 92.
“It was the biggest rail yard east of the Mississippi.”

The Friends Pavilions, elevator and electric tram have ended operation for the winter. Indoor restrooms and Welcome Centers on both approaches remain open.
