As the Hudson Valley reopens and moves forward, we will never forget the heroism of frontline workers of all stripes. In late April, the Friends of the Walkway teamed up with our partners at New York State Parks and created a 202-foot-long message of thanks comprised of more than 1,300 lights on the world’s longest elevated pedestrian bridge befitting these grand efforts.
Scott Snell and his team from SDS Imagery took the dramatic image seen by more than 500,000 people, and also put together this behind-the-scenes retrospective of how the project came to be.
