On Tuesday April 23, 2019, vehicle and pedestrian access will be limited at the Dutchess County approach to the Walkway Over the Hudson due to asphalt paving. Work will completely block direct access from the Dutchess Rail Trail to the Walkway and from the parking lot off Parker Ave for the entire day. In case of inclement weather, the work will be performed Wednesday, April 24.
Access will be blocked prior to the opening of the gates that day. The only access from the Dutchess side will be the Washington Street stairway. Rail Trail users will need to come down Parker Avenue to get to the stairway. Users coming from the Ulster side will need to use the stairway or turn around. The only wheelchair access to the Walkway for that day will be from the Ulster side. Normal access will resume the following day.
The Walkway is open daily from 7 a.m. to sunset.
Walkway's waterfront elevator at Upper Landing Park is currently closed for maintenance. OCTOBER 3-6: Upper Landing Park in Poughkeepsie and the Walkway elevator will be closed for Starry Starry Night. |
