Walkway Over the Hudson has become the backdrop of everyday life in the Hudson Valley—a place where our community gathers, connects, and thrives. It inspires curiosity about our region, supports health and wellness, boosts the local economy, showcases the beauty of the Hudson River, and offers unparalleled access to recreational opportunities.
 
Simply put, the Walkway is an invaluable resource that our community relies on every day.
 
As we continue to expand our reach and welcome new visitors, we are committed to ensuring the Walkway remains a welcoming, accessible, and inclusive space for people of all backgrounds and abilities.

This year, we took meaningful steps to reduce barriers and ensure everyone can enjoy all the Walkway has to offer. Together, we:

• Engaged over 400 students from the City of Poughkeepsie in free educational field trips;
• Expanded our wheelchair-accessible electric tram operations to five days per week;
• Hosted the region’s largest outdoor Pride event, and;
• Connected visitors to the stories of the local abolitionist movement through interpretive tours.

Through these efforts, we’re encouraging everyone in our community to see the Walkway as their own—a place where access and inclusion aren’t just aspirations but realities.

While we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished, there is so much more to do. Friends of the Walkway rely on the generosity of donors like you to sustain our work. Your support allows us to raise critical funds, coordinate volunteers, host engaging events, and develop innovative programs that enhance the Walkway experience for all.
