Walkway Over the Hudson has hired Geoff Brault, a professional with over a decade of experience leading and supporting communications efforts for some of the most visible entities in the mid-Hudson Valley, as Director of Marketing and Communications. He will be responsible for the Walkway’s digital presence, including its website and social media channels, as well as sponsorship, media relations, and event support.
Prior to his appointment at the Walkway, Brault managed digital marketing and social media for all 10 hospitals of the WMCHealth Network, including MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, since 2015. He has also served as the Director of Communications for the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce.
At WMCHealth, Brault was responsible for leading the health system’s first large-scale, network-wide digital marketing and paid social campaigns, as well as developing innovative and engaging online content that led to a 75 percent increase in social following. Throughout his career, he has spearheaded full-scale website and intranet development projects and been a part of two major organizational rebranding campaigns.
“We are pleased to add Geoff to our dynamic team at the Walkway,” said Executive Director Elizabeth Waldstein-Hart. “His expertise, deep ties to the community, and passion for the Hudson Valley will help take our marketing and communications efforts to the next level.”
A graduate of Marist College, Brault currently serves as the co-chair of the Hudson Valley Young Professionals and sits on County Executive Marcus Molinaro’s Economic Development Advisory Council. He is a member of the Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse Marketing Committee and Pattern for Progress Young Professionals Summit Committee, among others.
In 2018, Brault was honored by the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce with the Forty Under 40 Shaker Award, and Hudson Valley Magazine featured him among “Generation Next” as one of the young leaders helping to shape the future of the Hudson Valley.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Walkway Over the Hudson at this exciting time in the landmark’s history,” Brault said. “With the ten-year anniversary approaching, key construction projects in the works, and an already impeccable record as a great community connector, I can’t wait to get started.”
A native of Philadelphia, Brault currently resides in the City of Poughkeepsie. He can be reached at gbrault@walkway.org or 845-454-9649.
