Walkway Talks: Pollination Power
April 21 @ 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Presented by Mike Littier of New York State Parks, this program will focus on the importance of pollinators and their role in our ecosystem and the food chain. It begins with a 15-20 minute Powerpoint presentation followed by planting native wildflowers on the Highland side of the Walkway, adding to our already existing pollinator gardens. We will also be handing out a limited number of seed starting kits so participants can plant native pollinators at home.
Mike has been working for the New York State Parks for a total of nine years, five of which have been devoted to outdoor education. In addition to time spent at the Bear Mountain Zoo, he is also an avid outdoorsman with interests in mountain biking and snowboarding.
This Walkway Talks event takes place at the Walkway’s Ulster Welcome Center in Highland (87 Haviland Road) from 2:30-3:30 p.m. and is appropriate for attendees of all ages, including children.
