Friends Make Parks Great: Support Walkway Over the Hudson

Did you know that parks have superpowers? I challenge you to think of an alternate venue in our society, besides parks, where people of all ages, genders, races, languages, sexual orientations, and socio-economic backgrounds can come together – completely free to them – and truly be on equal footing.

Parks build community.

Since 2009, for seven days a week and 365 days a year, Walkway Over the Hudson has remained free, open, and accessible to all. With more than 600,000 annual visitors, Walkway Over the Hudson stands as a remarkable testament to the strength of the Hudson Valley and continues to serve as a cherished haven where individuals from all walks of life come together to find solace and joy. Whether it’s parents teaching their children to ride a bike, athletes preparing for their next race, or students delving into our region’s history….

Walkway Over the Hudson is for you.

Our valued donors are the lifeblood of the Walkway, not only sustaining its vibrancy but also driving our programming and the continuous enhancement of this beloved space. They empower us to raise funds for new amenities, coordinate volunteers, and host events that enhance the Walkway experience for all.

Your support is crucial to our success. I urge you to join our community by becoming a donor today.

Just as it took so many of us coming together to turn the dream of the Walkway into a reality, it will take all of us working together to ensure that we fulfill our vast potential – making the Walkway Over the Hudson a place where belonging, inclusion, and community continue to flourish. I hope you will join us on this exciting journey.

With Gratitude,

Lori Robertson, Executive Director
