- Church's masterpiece of architecture and landscape was influenced by his travels to the Middle East as well as his aesthetic appreciation of the Hudson Valley
- All of the family's original possessions remain in the house and studio, including sketches and paintings by Church and his mentor, Thomas Cole, as well as an array of exotic artifacts from Church's travels around the world
